South Shields pub death of Ronnie Howard, 31: Man charged with murder

A man has been charged with murder after a 31-year-old died in a disturbance at a pub.

Ronnie Howard, 31, was found on Wednesday at the Prince Edward in South Shields.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

A 35-year-old man has been charged with his murder, as well as affray. Four other men, aged between 28 and 58 have been charged with various other offences including assault and affray.

They are due to appear at South Tyneside Magistrates' Court.

Two men aged 31 and 30 were released with no further action, police said.
