Paul Allan named as Crawcrook crash death driver

Police have released the name of a man who died in a car crash in Ryton.

Paul Raymond Allan, 29, from the Crawcrook area died after his Vauxhall Astra crashed with two other cars at 05.40 BST on Friday.

Northumbria Police appealed for witnesses to the incident on the A695 Crawcrook bypass to contact them.

Mr Allan was taken to hospital, where he later died. The other cars involved were a Peugeot 207 and a Ford Mondeo.
