Stolen Landrover used in attempted robbery of cash machine
A stolen Landrover Defender was used in an attempt to remove a cash machine from a Wilko store in County Durham.
The attempted robbery happened at the shop at the Arnison Centre in Pity Me in the early hours.
The vehicle had been taken from an address in Wolsingham on Sunday and was reversed a number of times into the store front.
The offenders left the scene when the tow bar came off the vehicle.
It was later found abandoned in a wooded area near Nettlesworth.
Durham Police has appealed for information and asked for anyone who saw the distinctive burgundy coloured Landrover with a white roof to get in touch.
