Murdered Matthew Davis had 'a heart of gold'
The family of a man thought to have been murdered has described him as "a lovely lad, with a heart of gold".
Matthew Davis, 39, was found dead at his home in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside, on Friday.
Northumbria Police is continuing to question a man on suspicion of murder.
Two other men, also arrested on suspicion of murder, have been bailed pending further inquiries, along with a woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
A further two men were released with no further action.
Mr Davis's family said in a statement: "Matty was a lovely lad with a heart of gold.
"He was no bother to anyone and very close to his family and friends.
"Our family are deeply upset and we are grateful for anyone to come forward with any information which may assist the police."
