Seaham parade in aid of war memorial restoration

A parade is being held in a County Durham town in aid of the restoration of a war memorial.

British Legion members will gather on Church Street, Seaham, on Saturday to mark the launch of the Remember Them Fund.

The fund aims to raise £30,000 to help restore the town's crumbling memorial, which overlooks Seaham Harbour and was built in 1920, to its former glory.

It was erected in memory of those who lost their lives in World War I.
