Measures to cut speeding through County Durham village

Traffic calming measures are being put in place in a County Durham village, following concerns raised by residents.

People living in Castleside have complained that motorists drive too quickly through the area.

To reinforce the message that it is a 30mph zone, the council is installing a vehicle activated speed sign, enhanced road markings, and bollards.

Work at the north and south approaches from the A68 and from Church Street into the village, will start on Monday.
