A County Durham woman has been charged with the murder of her brother.

Ashley Gray was pronounced dead at hospital following an incident at a house on High Street in Ferryhill on Friday night.

A post-mortem examination revealed that the 24-year-old, from the town, had suffered a stab wound to his chest.

Claire Gray, 21, of Coniston Road, Ferryhill, will appear before magistrates in Newton Aycliffe on Monday morning.

Ten other people also arrested in connection with the death have been released without charge.
