Durham Police seek new community police advisors

Volunteer community police advisors are being sought by Durham Police.

The independent advisory groups were set up following recommendations made in the Macpherson report into Steven Lawrence's murder.

PC Clare Addison, from Durham Police, said: "Advisors have an important role to play, as they express personal views on policing policies and practices."

About 20 people sit on each of the groups which meet four times a year.
