Pedestrian dies in Cheltenham road accident

A 38-year-old man from Cheltenham died when he was hit by a car in the town.

Emergency services were called to Evesham Road on Tuesday at about 1850 BST, following reports of an accident.

The man was knocked down by a Rover, police said. He died at the scene.

A Gloucestershire Police spokesman said the road was closed for about five hours. Officers are appealing for anyone who saw the accident to get in contact.
