Swindon schools suffer leaks after theft of roof lead

Lead has been stolen from the roofs of four schools in the Swindon area in a week.

The thefts at Oliver Tompkins, Toothill Primary, Shaw Ridge and Tregoze primary schools are believed to have happened at night between 4 and 11 November.

Police said that as a result, some of the properties had suffered significant water damage after heavy rain.

Businesses in the town have been urged to check their buildings for similar loss or damage.

Anyone with information about the theft is urged to contact police.
