Swindon care petition handed to council
Nine thousand people have signed a petition in an effort to save council-run home care services in Swindon.
Campaigners handed in the signatures at a cabinet meeting on Wednesday night.
Sixty four home care jobs will go at the end of March at the Conservative-led Swindon Borough Council.
The council says support for vulnerable people in their own homes can be provided more cheaply by private companies.
Care workers have said their clients will not get the same level of service.
