Woman assaulted by motorist in Swindon street

An investigation is under way after a woman was assaulted by a motorist in Swindon.

The victim, 20, was walking on Elmina Road at 1000 GMT on Tuesday when a driver gestured to her as she passed.

Wiltshire Police said she continued walking but was assaulted by a man thought to be the driver soon after.

The force said she was "very shaken up", but uninjured. The vehicle is described as a red car-derived van with rusty patches.

The attacker is described as white, in his mid 50s, with grey hair and a "gaunt" face.

Det Insp Jim Taylor asked anyone who could identify the man or who was in the Manchester Road area at the time to contact the force.
