Arrests after woman assaulted in Swindon

Two men have been arrested in connection with an assault on a woman in Swindon.

The woman, 20, was walking on Elmina Road at 1000 GMT on Tuesday when a driver gestured to her as she passed.

Wiltshire Police said she continued walking but was assaulted by a man thought to be the driver soon after.

The force spokeswoman said a 32-year-old man was in police custody while a 49-year-old man had been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

She appealed for witnesses, including anyone who saw a red Vauxhall Astra van in the area at about 1000 GMT on Tuesday, to contact the force.
