Arrests after armed robberies in Corsham and Devizes

Two Wiltshire men have been arrested on suspicion of robbery.

The arrests follow raids at William Hill in Corsham, and the Cheltenham and Gloucester in Devizes.

The pair, a 22-year-old man from Melksham, and an 18-year-old man from Chippenham, were arrested on suspicion of both robberies.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said an imitation firearm had been recovered following property searches after the arrests.

He added the arrests came as a result of a tip-off from the public.

"Anyone who witnessed the William Hill robbery which happened just after 7.30pm on 23 February or the one at the Cheltenham and Gloucester bank on 9 March at 2.30pm is asked to ring police or Crimestoppers," he said.
