Police appeal after girl, 12, injured by car in Swindon

Police in Swindon are trying to trace the driver of a small white car after a 12-year-old girl was hit by a vehicle.

The girl, a pupil at Kingsdown School, suffered broken toes in the incident which happened on Queensfield Road at about 1530 GMT on Monday.

Wiltshire police said she was hit by the car, which had a "young male occupant", as she attempted to cross the road.

Officers appealed for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
