Three taken to hospital after Wiltshire house fire

Three people were taken to hospital after a severe house fire in Wiltshire.

Crews were called to the property at Station Road, in Holt, just before 0200 BST.

A woman, a man and a boy were taken to the Royal United Hospital, in Bath, as a precaution with suspected smoke inhalation.

A fire service spokesman said: "The cause of the fire is being investigated, but it is not thought to be suspicious."

He said the ground floor was well alight when crews arrived at the scene.

"The family had been alerted by a passer-by and had escaped before the fire service arrived," he added.

The house did not have a functioning smoke alarm.
