Councillor Nick Blakemore elected mayor of Trowbridge

Councillor Nick Blakemore has been elected the new mayor of Trowbridge at the council's annual meeting.

Councillor Blakemore, who was previously deputy mayor and also served as mayor in 2007-08, succeeds Councillor Clive Blackmore.

"I am delighted to once again receive the unanimous support of my fellow councillors," he said.

"In this time of economic uncertainty I will do my utmost to promote Trowbridge in every way possible."

The mayor's charities for 2011-12 have been confirmed as Larkrise Community Farm in Trowbridge and the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
