Warminster Town Council backs plans for new houses on derelict site

A town council has backed proposals to build 18 houses and garages on a derelict site in Warminster.

Warminster town councillors said they believed the scheme at the junction of Victoria Road and the Grovelands should be given the go ahead.

The council said the site has been an "eyesore for some years" after previous applications to develop it failed, but several neighbours have now complained.

Wiltshire Council is due to make a final decision by the end of July.

Councillor Tony Field said the town council was "delighted" the site was being "considered again for development".

Some residents have said the scheme would "dominate the area" and block sunlight from a number of neighbouring properties.
