Cashier at Lloyds TSB in Swindon robbed at gunpoint

A robber demanded money from a cashier at a Swindon bank at gunpoint before making off.

Wiltshire Police said the man entered the Lloyds TSB on Cricklade Road, in Gorse Hill, at about 0900 BST on Thursday.

He rested a plastic bag, containing what is believed to be a firearm, on the counter and demanded cash from the woman.

After being given a sum of money, he fled the scene.

Det Con Liz Coles said the cashier was uninjured, but had been left frightened and shaken.

She said the robber is white, aged between 35 and 40, and slim with a shaved head.

He spoke with a local accent, was wearing a beige coat and had a Tesco carrier bag.

Det Con Coles appealed for witnesses to contact the force.
