Swindon man charged after woman dies in car crash

A Swindon man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a crash in Cirencester in which an elderly woman was fatally injured.

Stuart James Hawkins, 23, of Rodbourne, was charged over the crash, which happened on 17 April.

Daphne Wilson, 89, from Ashton Keynes, was taken to Swindon's Great Western Hospital after the crash, where she later died.

Mr Hawkins will appear at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on 25 August.

He is also charged with possession of cannabis.
