Castle Combe driver dies after heart attack during race

A racing driver has died at the Castle Combe motor racing circuit near Chippenham, Wiltshire.

The man, who has not been named, suffered a heart attack whilst competing on Saturday.

He was taking part in a Formula Ford qualifying race and no other vehicles were involved.

The venue, which celebrated 60 years of car racing in 2010, used to be the perimeter track of a World War II airfield, and opened to racing in 1950.
