Man killed when car hits tree in Wiltshire

A man was killed when his car left the road and hit a tree near Amesbury in Wiltshire.

Police said the crash, which involved a silver Peugeot 307, happened at about 04:40 BST on Sunday on the A345 at Four Mile Hill, in High Post.

The 23-year-old driver, named as Lewis Andrews, was pronounced dead at the scene, officers said.

Anyone who saw the vehicle leaving Salisbury for Amesbury before the crash is asked to contact the force.
