Housing plan for greenfield land in Salisbury

Plans to build 68 new homes on greenfield land south-east of Salisbury have been recommended for approval.

The land at Downton Road is outside of the Salisbury District Local Plan and is close to a new 147-home estate.

There have been 30 objections because of its greenfield status, fear of over-development, increase in traffic, and its proximity to archaeological sites.

A decision will be made by the Conservative-run Wiltshire Council during a planning meeting on Wednesday.
