Wiltshire Police launch 101 number for non-urgent calls

A new telephone number for non-emergency calls in Wiltshire is being introduced by the police.

The 101 number is part of a national drive to reduce the pressure on the 999 emergency service.

The contact number is being introduced across the country over the next 12 months and is being launched in Wiltshire on Monday.

Callers who are deaf or have a hearing or speech impairment can use textphone on 18001 101 or 18000 in an emergency.
