Bus evacuated after fire in Salisbury

A double-decker bus was destroyed after catching fire on a residential street.

The blaze broke out on the Wilts & Dorset Bus on Exeter Street in Salisbury at about 1345 BST on Sunday.

Two fire engines and crews using hose reels extinguished the fire which was "well alight" when they arrived.

No-one was injured as the bus driver managed to get all 20 passengers on the Salisbury to Bournemouth service out safely, a bus company spokesman said.

A full investigation will take place to determine the exact cause of the fire.
