Swindon 'splash park' go-ahead

Plans for a £117,000 splash park to replace a paddling pool at Coate Water Park have been given the go-ahead.

Swindon Borough Council said the proposal will pay for itself over six years as the zone at the country park will not require staffing.

It will see items of water play equipment, which can be removed during the winter months, installed on a safety surface,

The park will be free to use, the council said.
