Ward at great Western Hospital closed due to norovirus

A ward at a Wiltshire hospital has been closed due to the winter vomiting bug norovirus.

The Saturn Ward at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon will reopen when patients and staff have experienced no symptoms for at least 72 hours.

Salisbury District Hospital says it is clear of any norovirus outbreaks.

The Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is urging visitors to wash their hands and use alcohol gel provided outside wards.

People who have experienced vomiting or diarrhoea recently or been in contact with anyone with symptoms are being asked not to visit the hospitals.
