Delays possible as ship propellers transported to Corsham

Motorists in Wiltshire are being warned of delays as an abnormal load travels from the M4 to Corsham via Melksham.

The transporters, carrying ship propellers, are 78ft (23.6m) long and 17ft (5.2m) wide.

They set off at 05:50 BST from the M4 Leigh Delamere Services and exit at junction 17 on to the A350 to Melksham.

The two vehicles will then travel westbound on the A365 before turning on to the B3353 heading for Leafield Mine in Corsham.

"They have to travel over the rail bridge on the A350/A365 junction individually with no other vehicular traffic on the structure due to their weight," a police spokeswoman said.

"Therefore there will be a delay for other motorists whilst this takes place."
