Avon Rubber in Melksham gets £14.7m order
A Wiltshire-based company that makes breathing apparatus has received a major order worth £14.7m.
Avon Rubber, which also makes dairy milking equipment, said the order from a Middle East firm was its largest outside the US military.
The Melksham company, which started trading more than 120 years ago, also reported a 6% rise in profits to £4.6m in the six months to 31 March.
Chief executive Peter Slabbert said the order gave them "momentum for 2013".
Avon Rubber cut about 70 jobs at its Westbury factory four years ago.
Mr Slabbert had previously said they were losing money at the time and needed to make the business sustainable.
