Trowbridge cinema complex plan turned down by council

Plans to build an eight-screen cinema in a Wiltshire town have been turned down by planners.

Wiltshire Council's planning committee voted by seven votes to three to refuse the development on the old Bowyers site in Trowbridge. One voter abstained.

Developers Prorsus wanted to build the cinema along with a Morrisons supermarket and restaurants.

A seven-screen cinema and leisure development was approved for nearby St Stephen's Place in February.
