Wiltshire crash pilot's inquest opened

An inquest into the death of a pilot whose aircraft crashed in a field in Wiltshire has been opened and adjourned.

Graham Palmer, 78, died when his light aircraft crashed in Clarendon, near Salisbury, on 22 August.

Mr Palmer, from Surrey, was the only person on board.

Wiltshire Police said his body had now been released to his family for a funeral.

The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) and the police force have begun an investigation into the cause of the crash.
