JP Morgan cuts nearly 200 jobs at Swindon offices

Finance firm JP Morgan has confirmed nearly 200 jobs are set to go at its offices in Swindon.

The company told the BBC its staff will continue to work at its offices in Lydiard Fields for another year before its closure in the town.

Swindon South MP Robert Buckland said he would be seeking more detail about the planned job losses.

JP Morgan added that it was still working out what relocation packages it could offer to its employees.

Conservative MP Mr Buckland said: "I'll be making enquiries about the full extent of their proposals to get it clear in my mind precisely who is going to be affected locally and what can be done to help support any members of the workforce who are going to be made redundant or lose their jobs."
