Boy 'critical' after being hit by car near Trowbridge

A 14-year-old boy is in a critical condition in hospital after being hit by a car as he left his school bus in Wiltshire, police have said.

The teenager was struck by a blue BMW in Great Hinton, near Trowbridge, at about 16:00 BST on Friday.

He was thrown by the impact into a stationary Ford Transit, police said.

The 40-year-old male driver of the BMW, who lives in the Devizes area, was not injured but suffered shock. Police are appealing for witnesses.

The boy is being treated at Frenchay Hospital, near Bristol, where he was taken by air ambulance.
