Devizes street violence leaves police officers hurt

Two police officers are in hospital after being seriously assaulted when violence erupted in Devizes in the early hours.

They were called when disorder broke out in Market Place at 03:15 BST and were attacked about 30 minutes later.

Both officers are currently being treated for their injuries at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon.

Two men have been arrested on suspicious of causing grievous bodily harm, and actual bodily harm.

Wiltshire Police has appealed for any witnesses to the attack to contact them.
