Hatts group: New operators found for some bus services

New operators have been found for some of the bus services operated by Hatts, which went into administration last week.

From Saturday, three companies will operate Salisbury's park-and-ride and the Pewsey Vale Connect Two services.

Administrators said the move would provide job opportunities for 30 Hatts workers who had been facing redundancy.

Hatts ran a mixture of overseas holidays, day trips and local services across Wiltshire.

Wilts and Dorset will operate the Salisbury park-and-ride services from sites at Wilton, London Road and Beehive. Stagecoach will operate other routes from Britford and Pertersfinger. APL Travel will take over as operators for the Pewsey Vale Connect Two Wiltshire bus service.

The Hatts group, which also includes Bodmans Coaches and HQT Ltd, employed about 100 people.

The firm operated a fleet of about 90 buses and coaches operating out of offices and depots in Chippenham, Devizes and Salisbury.

The company dates back to 1928 and had been under the same family ownership for four generations.

Hundreds of customer bookings have been affected by the firm being put into administration.
