Man admits sexually assaulting woman in Swindon

A 38-year-old man has admitted sexually assaulting a 22-year-old woman earlier this month.

Barry John Norris, of Huddleston Close, Swindon, pleaded guilty to one count of sexual assault when he appeared before magistrates in the town.

Norris is due to reappear at Swindon Magistrates' Court on 6 October.

Police are separately investigating two other alleged sexual assaults in the town but no charges have been made in relation to these incidents.

A 21-year-old woman was attacked on 4 September near Austin Crescent and a 16 year-old girl was assaulted on Okus Road the same evening.

The attack on the 21-year-old woman was "particularly violent" and left the victim "extremely distressed" Wiltshire police said.
