A county-wide review of car parking is to be carried out by Wiltshire Council after it admitted it got it wrong in the past.

It says it wants to amend parking charges to suit the needs of each of the county's biggest towns.

Businesses have campaigned for a review since changes to parking charges were introduced in 2011.

Deputy leader of Wiltshire Council John Thomson said: "With hindsight, some of the changes were wrong."

The council said one of the options under consideration was to introduce free parking spaces in some areas.
