Man jailed following fatal car crash in Swindon

A speeding driver whose dangerous driving led to a crash which killed a man in Swindon has been jailed.

Paul Winters, 33, from Swindon, died and his father Peter Winters, 61, suffered life-changing injuries in the collision on Thamesdown Drive in May.

Arnie Peter Rogers, 23, of Kitchener Street, Swindon, had been driving at 70mph in a 40mph zone before the crash.

He was jailed for six years and eight months after pleading guilty to causing death by dangerous driving.

At Swindon Crown Court he also received a 28-month sentence for causing serious injury by dangerous driving and a 10-year driving ban.
