'Wild boar' M4 fatal crash victim named by police

A driver who was killed when his car crashed into a wild boar on the M4 in Wiltshire has been named by police.

Raymond Green, 47, of Wootton Bassett, hit the animal between junctions 17 (Chippenham) and 16 (Swindon West) on Monday night.

Police said his car crashed into a "particularly large" animal before being hit by an articulated lorry.

Mr Green was pronounced dead at the scene and the motorway was closed for about eight hours.

The lorry driver was treated for minor injuries, police said

Police have appealed for witnesses to the collision, which happened at about 1840 GMT on Monday, to come forward.
