More than 200 homes which were without water after a major leak have been reconnected.

More than 15 million litres of water from the Flaxlands reservoir near Royal Wootton Bassett was lost as a result of a 40cm (16in) burst main on Tuesday.

Thames Water said "due to the complexity of the repair" it took time to reconnect some homes. At the height, some 500 properties were cut off.

Several schools remained closed on Tuesday because of a lack of water.
