Sisters appear in court over Swindon stabbing murder

Two sisters have appeared in court charged with the murder of another woman in Swindon.

Alison Connolly, 49, from Penhill, died after being stabbed in an attack at Evelyn House, Park South, last Tuesday afternoon.

Charice Gassman, 19, and Amberstasia Gassman, 23, appeared before Swindon Magistrates' Court earlier.

A third woman, a 19-year-old from Swindon, who was arrested, was released on police bail on Friday evening.

In court this morning, both defendants nodded when they were asked if they understood the charge.

The sisters were then remanded in custody and will appear at Bristol Crown Court on Tuesday for a bail hearing.
