Police probe after cattle 'poisoned' in village of Ham

An "unknown poisonous substance" added to a cattle water trough is believed to have been responsible for the death of 10 "in calf" cows.

Wiltshire Police said the incident took place in an open barn containing 67 beef cattle near the Ham village between 27 and 28 April.

"By Friday morning 10 were dead along with their unborn calves," a force spokesman said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crimestoppers.
