Biker killed on A684 in North Yorkshire identified

Police have identified a biker killed in a collision on the A684 in North Yorkshire.

Mark Richard Chadfield, 34, of Darlington, died after his motorcycle was involved in a head-on collision with a 4x4 car.

It happened between Swinithwaite and Aysgarth on Friday.

Two men from Darlington, aged 34 and 55, were arrested in connection with the incident but released on bail. Police have appealed for witnesses.

North Yorkshire Police believe the driver of a camper van, who was in the area at the time, may have witnessed the crash and have appealed for them to come forward.

Mr Chadfield had been riding a red Kawasaki ZR 750 motorcycle and was travelling as part of a group.

The A684 was closed for eight hours following the collision, which happened at about 1810 BST.
