Challenor Property fraud inquiry in York: four charged
Four men have been charged by detectives investigating a £2m fraud inquiry at a collapsed property development business in York.
They are: two York men, aged 46 and 64; a 54-year-old from Towcester, Northamptonshire; and a 41-year-old from Longfield, Kent.
The charges relate to the collapsed York-based property club Challenor Property Developments.
The men are due to appear at York Magistrates' Court on 22 September.
They are jointly charged with participating in a fraudulent business.
The business, which folded in May 2008, dealt in the bulk sale of buy-to-let properties in the UK and abroad.
More than 180 clients complained to North Yorkshire Police about losses amounting to about £2m.
