Scarborough festival cancelled after poor ticket sales
An extreme sports festival due to take place in Scarborough at the weekend has been cancelled, its operator has said.
Extreme sports including kitesurfing and BMX riding were to form part of the 360º Extreme Sports Festival, as well as a concert by the band Madness.
But operators Apollo Resorts and Leisure said organisers the Cirrion Group had cancelled the event because of poor ticket sales.
The company added that people who had bought tickets could arrange a refund.
An Apollo spokesman said those affected should contact the organisation they purchased the tickets from and could get their money back.
He added that anyone who had bought tickets via the Ticketline website would have the money automatically refunded to their credit or debit card.
The festival was due to take place from 17 to 19 September.
