Huddersfield man killed in A1 collision named

A man who died in a crash on the A1 in North Yorkshire has been identified.

Gary Skelley was driving a blue Jaguar car which collided with a blue Skoda on the northbound carriageway near Scotch Corner on Friday morning.

After the collision the Jaguar crashed into a tree and Mr Skelley, 52, of Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, died in hospital.

The driver of the Skoda, a 26-year-old man from Catterick, was not injured. Police urged witnesses to come forward.
