Man arrested after biker dies in A64 crash

A car driver has been arrested following the death of a motorcyclist in a crash in North Yorkshire.

A VW Polo and a Honda motorcycle were involved in a head-on collision on the A64, at the Claxton junction, on Tuesday night.

The 46-year-old male biker, from Ossett, West Yorkshire, died.

The 53-year-old driver of the Polo, from Driffield, East Yorkshire, was arrested and later released on bail while police inquiries continue.

A 60-year-old man from Driffield who was a passenger in the Polo was taken to hospital for treatment and later discharged.

Witnesses have been urged to contact North Yorkshire Police.
