Liversedge biker dies in head-on North Yorkshire crash

A motorcyclist has died in a head-on collision with a car near a North Yorkshire village.

The man, of Liversedge, West Yorkshire, was in a group of four bikers travelling on the B1217 towards Towton when the crash happened on Saturday.

Police said the man, who was aged in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene by a passing doctor.

The driver and the passenger of the car suffered minor injuries. The other bikers were not involved in the crash.

Police have urged witnesses to the collision, which happened near to the Crooked Billet pub at 1415 BST, to come forward.
