Driver held over fatal North Yorkshire bike crash

A motorcyclist has been killed in a collision with a car.

Stephen Summers, 55, of Keighley, West Yorkshire, died in hospital four hours after the collision on the A59 near to Broughton village, North Yorkshire.

The driver of the car, a 32-year-old man from Dewsbury, has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody.

Police said the crash happened between Broughton Hall and the A59/A56 junction at about 0515 GMT on Monday.

The motorcyclist has not yet been identified by police, who have urged witnesses to come forward.
