Sleeping Selby woman's wedding ring stolen from finger
An 87-year-old woman was woken by a burglar who stole her wedding ring from her finger.
Detectives said the woman had been left "very distressed" after she was woken in her bed by an intruder who stole the ring and a necklace.
The burglary happened at her house in Highfield Crescent, Barlby, near Selby, at about 0300 GMT.
Two men, aged 22 and 34, have been arrested. Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
Det Sgt Steve Wilson, of Selby CID, said: "This is a shocking crime which has left a vulnerable person in a very distressed state.
"She was awoken by the suspect in the darkness before he approached her and removed her jewellery.
"I can only imagine how terrified she must have felt at that moment."
